2nd day : Delphi
The RioAntirio Bridge, 3 km long, joins the north coast of the Peloponnese to Continental Greece since 2004 and it is now a symbol of modern Greece.
On the site of Delphi you will visit the Panhellenic sanctuary, dedicated to the God Apollo, including the very famous oracle of Delphi, the Pythoness. According to the Greek mythology, Delphi was the centre of the world. To visit: the temple of Apollo, the theatre, the stadium and the temple of Athena.

3rd day : Kalambaka or Larissa
The monasteries of the Meteora, which belong to the patrimony of the UNESCO since 1988, are situated on the summit of rocks called Meteora. The first monasteries are from the XIVth century. Only 4 monasteries from the 24 initially built are still in activity: Agios Nikolaos, Agios Stefanos, Aghia Triada and the monastery of the Transfiguration.

4th day : Ioannina
Ioannina is the most important city of Epirus in the north-west of Greece. It is situated on the west coast of the Pamvotis Lake. Its origins date back to the Byzantine emperor Justinian in the VIth century. For a long time the city was its only fortress. Discover the walk by the lake, the house of Ali Pacha and the archaeological museum.

5th day : Messolonghi
Messolonghi was long ago a fortified city, surrounded by 30 towers and 7 gates. The city is wellknown for its resistance during the Turkish occupation in the XIXth century and for having hidden a great number of rebels during the Independence War in Greece. Nowadays, it is a modern and dynamic city which has a lot of artistic and cultural centres. The access gate and part of the fortifications are still visible.

6th day : Olympia
Olympia was a sanctuary, not a city, and was only inhabitated by religious and priests. To discover, the temple of Zeus and the sport structures that were made for the Olympic Games, tradition that started in 776 before J.C. Nowadays, the Olympic flame is lit there a few months before the beginning of the opening ceremony of the winter and the summer Olympic Games.

7th day : Athens

1st day : Athens

2nd day : Athens
Athens is the historical capital of Europe and the centre of modern civilization. To visit, the Acropolis, the symbol of the city, also named “sacred rock”, the Parthenon and the new museum of the Acropolis, the old scenic city of Plaka and its picturesque narrow streets, Monastiraki and the Flea Market, Syntagma Square and the change of the guards.

3rd day : Nafplio or Tolon
The Corinth Canal joins the Gulf of Corinth to the Aegean Sea and is more than 6 km long. The first attempt to dig the channel was made by Neron in 67 AD but was quickly abandoned because it was too expensive. The digging started again in 1881 through the Greek government and ended in 1893.
Mycenae is an ancient city founded around 1700 BC and was discovered in 1876 by Heinrich Schliemann. The site abounds in archaeological treasures such as the citadel, the gate of the Lions, the circles with graves and the vaulted graves.
Nafplio was the capital of Greece from 1828 until 1834 after numerous invasions made by Francs, Venetians and Turcs. Nowadays it is an animated resort town surrounded by two fortresses: Acronauplio and Palamidi.

4th day : Sparta
Mistra was founded by the Francs in the XIIIth century in order to protect Sparta. A city that had a tragic destiny, being entirely destroyed by the Egyptian general Ibrahim Pacha. The site belongs to the patrimony of the UNESCO since 1989. To see: the higher city, the lower city, the fortress and the monasteries.
Sparta was one of the most powerful cities in Ancient Greece together with Athens and Thebes. Sparta is well-known for its political, military, religious and social organization which made this city one of the most developed in the world in those times. Nowadays, the ancient city has been replaced by a modern city of 18 000 inhabitants.

5th day : Kalamata
The mountain chain of Taygetos is located on a peninsula south of Sparta and Kalamata. Its highest top attains 2, 407 metres. It is an ideal place for hiking.
Kalamata is well-known for its local products such as its delicious black olives and its honey. It is the second big city of Peloponnese due to its number of inhabitants and its commercial activity. To see: the castle of Villehardoin, the Byzantine church and the monastery of Kalograion.

The peninsula of Mount Pelion is a refuge for a great deal of birds’ species and brings there those who love to walk in the nature. Discover the village of Tsangarada between sea and mountain, Makrinitsa, the balcony of the Pelion, Vinitsa for its traditional architecture, Zagora, the village “behind the mountains” or Kissos the flowered village. On the seaside, you will find pleasant resorts such as Agios Ioannis and its two magnificent beaches, Agia Kiryaki, the fishing village or Platanias known for its quietness and tranquillity.

14th day : Athens
The Lycabettus Hill at 277 meters is in fact the highest point of the city of Athens. It offers an exceptional panoramic view on the city and its surroundings.
The Cape Sounion is located 65 km from Athens at the east end of Attica. It is a sanctuary dedicated to the God Poseidon and from which the ruins overlook the sea at about 60 metres high. The cape is wellknown for its wonderful sunset on the Saronic Gulf.

Arachova small tourist city, very lively and animated, well-known for its multicoloured carpets. Amphissa and its unending olive groves… Thermophilae, place with lots of warm water springs. Because of its strategic situation, the passage of Thermophilae has been the theatre of many battles. The most famous was the battle of Thermophilae where 1000 Greek soldiers (300 Spartans and 700 soldiers of Thespies) lead by Leonidas Ist of Sparta resisted to the Persians of Xerxes Ist but finally perished. Kamena Vourla, charming resort. Katerini, 6 km away from the seashore and nearby many archaeological sites such as the city of Dion or the Venetian castle of Platamon, the tourist attractions of the city.

1st day : Kavala
Welcome at the Macedonia airport of Thessaloniki. The car is given to you according to the chosen category. Departure for Kavala.
Cimon founded the city of Amphipolis, to see, the site with the necropolis, the walls, the lower city and the exceptional ruins (wooden pillars) of one of the two bridges on the Strymon, as well as the gymnase, a big Hellenistic residence, and the basilicas of the acropolis.

Vergina, where Macedonian tombs with remarquable frescos were discovered in 1977. Discovery of the outdoor paintings at the entrances of the tombs. Visit of the archaeological museum where marvellous treasures and items are shown , coming from the royal tombs.
Naoussa, where red wine is made, coming mostly from the local wineries, the « Xinomavro », planted all over the area. This winery produces rather light and aromatic red wine that maturates well in barrels.
